It’s new and it’s here – Field Manager PRO and Field Manager PRO 360 2015-03, including updates for FM PRO Mobile.

Here’s a list of just some of the new features you can expect:

Auto-update

• Automatic notification from within your software when an update is available. (You need an internet connection to use this feature.)

Online Activation

• Activate your software as soon as you’re ready. All you need is an internet connection, a serial number and the email address we have on file. Once the information is entered, just press the button to activate the system. It’s the ultimate in convenience: no need to call in, no need to wait for a disk.
• Of course, you can choose to not use the online activation tool, or if your computer isn’t connected to the internet, you can call us during our normal business hours.

Setup

• New preference setting added to set default nutrient unit for a soil test.
• Links tab added to your input setup
• Identify up to 4 active ingredients to your inputs

Operation

• Add seed spacing in the Planting operation.

GIS

• Import field boundaries using .gpx files
• Import all operation data from New Holland Intelliview 2/3
• Import harvest and operations information from New Holland Intelliview 4
• Import all Summarized Planting Logs from Precision Planting Manufacturer
• Hover over a field in the GIS Farm view to get a Summary report on that field

FM PRO Mobile

• Update available to ensure compatibility with iOS 9.
• Running FM PRO Mobile on Android? Check out our new look.
• Import weather information into FM PRO Mobile.
• Add seed spacing in the planting operation into FM PRO Mobile.

Managing your field data has never been easier thanks to the latest upgrades to Field Manager PRO and Field Manager PRO 360. What’s new for 2015-02? New improvements, features and a few bug fixes. And of course, we’ve included a new FM PRO Mobile app release. Check it out:

• Added a Show and Hide feature to turn Canada GAP on or off.

Harvest

• Added checkboxes to the Harvest record to identify if the “PHI met”, if the “Production site was assessed” and if “All glass intact”.
• Default your crop to the last crop planted on that field when entering a Harvest record.

GIS

• Compare two GIS layers from different records.
• Updated toolbar with a fresher and more relevant look.

FM PRO Mobile

• Updated look for FM PRO Mobile on iOS – watch for an update for Android users on the next app release.
• Added checkboxes to the Harvest record to identify if the “PHI met”, if the “Production site was assessed” and if “All glass intact”.
• Entering a Harvest record? The crop will now default to the last crop planted on that field.

How to sync your mobile app and desktop

If you’re new to our apps, or just need a little clarification, you’re in luck. We’re talking about the synching process, and demystifying how the cloud works. Whether you use AgExpert Mobile or FM PRO Mobile, the process is similar – check it out:

Sync process

• In AgExpert Mobile, enter your receipts on the app, and then click the cloud button. This sends the information to the cloud.
• In FM PRO Mobile, enter your data and click the cloud button on your app. This sends your data to the cloud.

What happens to my data once it’s in the cloud?

• The information stays in the cloud until you retrieve it on your desktop computer.

How to retrieve your information from the cloud

• Using AgExpert Mobile? Open AgExpert Analyst and go to the Transaction menu. There you simply click on Import from AgExpert Mobile. For more details about the process, click here.
• Using FM PRO Mobile? Open Field Manager PRO or 360, and go to the File menu, then click on Sync. For more details about the process, click here.
• Once you follow through with the synchronization process, your data will be retrieved from the cloud and will appear on your desktop software.

Requirements to retrieve the information from the cloud

• Be sure you’re running the latest version of the software and the application.
• You must have on a current service plan subscription to retrieve information from the cloud.

Fresh updates for Field Manager PRO and 360, and FM PRO Mobile

Great news – Field Manager PRO (and 360) 2014-03 is ready, along with an updated version of FM PRO Mobile for iPhone, iPad and Android devices.

If you like an accurate picture of your costs and profit margins, you’ll want to get this latest version. It contains bug fixes and several new features to help you manage your operation. Also an update to FM PRO Mobile is available through the App Store and Google Play.

To get started, you’ll need to reactivate your software. Learn how to do it online.

New help within the software is also available. Press the F1 key to get directed to our online community.

What’s new for you

Field Manager PRO

• edit your seed, fertilizer, manure and pesticide inputs directly from the operation screen
• duplicate Equipment maintenance records
• added the option <all> to the filter list to display all your pesticides at once
• fix – the reports will stop selecting everything by default

Field Manager PRO 360

• fix – doing an operation on a field with multiple polygons
• display the manures applied and the last irrigated fields in the GIS Farm View

FM PRO Mobile

• changes to user interface based on your requests
• geolocate your storage location on your phone (setup must be done on Field Manager PRO 360)
• add a sale record
• added Change password and Forgot password
• added a button to delete data from the cloud to the Sync screen – this step is not reversible

How to sync Field Manager PRO and 360 with FM PRO Mobile

So you’ve downloaded our app – FM PRO Mobile. That’s great. Now you’re wondering, what’s next? Don’t worry, we’ll walk you through the basic steps to properly sync your app with Field Manager PRO and Field Manager PRO 360.

First, let’s go over some general rules to keep in mind when synching FM PRO Mobile:

1. Only one crop year is in the sync triangle at a time. The only place that multiple crop years exist is on the desktop.
2. Establish a process, either by time of day or by order of tasks for your sync. For example, always sync to the cloud from the app at the end of the hour/day/week. This is vital when there are multiple apps in play so we know when it’s appropriate to sync to the desktop.
3. Once you’ve established your process, stick to it. If you feel you need to change it up, check with support first. We’ll be sure it won’t cause problems in the way your data is moving from the desktop to the app, and back to the desktop.

Here are seven steps for a successful sync process:

1. Sync from the desktop.
2. Sign in on the app.
3. Download the farm to the app.
4. Enter records/make changes.
5. Sync changes up to the cloud.
6. Sign out on the app.
7. Start over at step one.

When it comes to apps, why should Apple and Android users have all the fun?

BlackBerry users deserve some love, too. And thanks to a new BlackBerry operating system, they’re closer to enjoying what everyone else has taken for granted – access to some great apps.

With the release of BlackBerry 10.2.1, BlackBerry is making it easier to install Android apps, including AgExpert Mobile and FM PRO Mobile.

Sure, the previous operating system allowed BlackBerry users to attempt the installation of some Android apps, but it wasn’t easy. If you’re tech savvy, you could convert Android files in .BAR, and maybe those apps would work.

But with BlackBerry’s new operating system, users can install Android apps using the .APK files – an easier, albeit lengthy, method.

Ready to learn how? We’ve outlined a step-by-step document to help you.

Remember, based on our quality assurance tests, these apps should work properly on your BlackBerry smartphone. However, these Android apps weren’t designed to run on a BlackBerry. We can’t guarantee you’ll have a flawless experience using an Android app or that you won’t experience any app crashes. FCC Management Software can’t troubleshoot any issues for your BlackBerry smartphone.

Also, if you’re a Field Manager PRO 360 user, use the FM PRO Mobile app on an Android or iOS device. The GIS functionality doesn’t work properly on any BlackBerry devices and will make the app crash due to limitations with the access to mapping services on BlackBerry smartphones.
