Updating a computer without the Internet

FCC Management Software now provides AgExpert Analyst and Field Manager PRO updates via email, rather than mailing them out on a CD or DVD. Understandably, many people choose to have their accounting computer offline. As long as you have access to a computer with Internet access, you can download your updates and upload them to the right computer.

Make sure you have a memory stick that you can devote to moving these updates.

  1. Using the computer that you access your email on, open the update email.
  2. Click the link in the email to access the download site.
  3. Click the link on the download site to begin downloading your update.
  4. You should be asked if you want to run or save the download file. Click the arrow beside the Save option and select Save As.
  5. From the Save As screen, locate your memory stick under Computer on the left-side of your screen. Click Save to download the update file.
  6. When the download is complete, remove the memory stick from your system.
  7. Insert the memory stick in the computer that has AgExpert Analyst or Field Manager Pro installed on it.
  8. Navigate to your memory stick by clicking the folder icon on your taskbar, and then selecting your memory stick under Computer.
  9. Double-click the file you downloaded to the memory stick. The update installation will begin. You can continue using the program as normal.
Note: These instructions apply if you’re using Internet Explorer as your web browser. Each browser downloads files differently. Consult your browser’s help files to determine how the browser handles downloaded files.
