MyFarmConnect > MyFarmConnect > AgExpert Field and GrainFox Integration Guide

1. Visit  www.grainfox.ca and make sure you’ve successfully registered for an account.

2. Next, login to GrainFox, click Farm Profile on the left and then click Farms

3. Click the Integrations button in the top-right of the page to open a sub-menu. Enable the switch by clicking on the toggle beside AgExpert to begin the integration process.

4. A dialog will open asking you to “Allow access”. Click Allow access

5. Read the terms and conditions of the connection that will appear have the connection success message and click Follow this link

6. This will bring you back to AgExpert. Login to your AgExpert account if prompted.

7. The next step is to click the checkboxes beside your AgExpert businesses that you which to connect. Click Allow access in the bottom right.

8. Return to the GrainFox website tab and click Next

9. Grainfox will now attempt to load the data from AgExpert. Please note that this can take a couple minutes to load.

10. Once the data has loaded you will see a list of all your AgExpert Farms, organized as cards. These cards start out collapsed but can be expanded to view the details of what commodities are being grown on that farm.

11. You can click on the arrow beside the card to see the data it contains.
12. Any importing errors will be highlighted in red and will require action prior to being imported. You will need to correct this data in AgExpert before attempting the import again. You can skip this step, if need be, and proceed to import the data that is ready to import.

13. Click the checkbox next to any farms you would like to import, and then click Next

14. You will then need to map the AgExpert farm to a GrainFox farm location. For every Agxpert farm, there will be a row showing the farm name and a dropdown to pick a corresponding GrainFox farm location or an option to create a new location. Every AgExpert farm must be mapped to a GrainFox farm.

15. After completing the farm mapping process, the next step is to review and update the commodity mapping. By default, the integration will suggest the closest matching commodity mapping that is available in GrainFox but you can always over-ride the default mapping to choose a commodity that is a closer fit to the commodity that exists in AgExpert.

16. Click Done to initiate the synchronization and finalize the data import. This will enable the full integration between the two platforms. After a few seconds, you should see the imported commodities by selecting the current crop year in GrainFox.

17. Data imported from Agxpert will display “from AgExpert”. We recommend taking a few moments to verify that the imported data is accurate.

18. Feel free to make changes to the imported data in GrainFox.

19. After the initial integration is complete and the initial data has been imported, you can update GrainFox anytime if you have added new data to AExpert.

20. To do this, from the farms profile > farms page, click the Updates tab, located in the top right beside the Integrations tab.

21. Next, click the Check for updates button to sync AgExpert with GrainFox.

22. Data changes will be displayed under the “Updates from AgExpert” section, or under “New data from AgExpert” if new data has been entered in AgExpert after the initial integration.

23. You can click the Update button beside the data to review the information and import it into GrainFox.

24. Grainfox will search for changes in field names, area, plant activities (crop type and seeded acres) and harvested activities and yield.

25. The “current” and “updated” data will be displayed in 2 different columns with the proposed changes highlighted. Review the changes and click “Update” or select all the changes and click “Update All” to update everything at once.

26. Similarly, clicking the ‘Sync’ button beside the “New data from AgExpert” field will allow you to bring-in data updates specific to new farms or new commodity being added to AgExpert that were not present prior to integration. You will be able to review the data and confirm the “Farms” and “Commodity data”.

27. Click Next, and you will be shown the ‘commodity’ mapping step where you can go ahead and map the commodity from AgExpert to the commodities in Grain Fox, just like before.

28. Once the commodity mapping has been completed, click the Done button to bring-in the data for the
new commodity into GrainFox.
