Using the Fertilize tab to add information to an operation

To add fertilizer information to an operation, ensure that the Fertilize check box is selected in the first section of the Operation dialogue box. Then:

  • Click the to remove a fertilizer from the operation or press the delete key on your keyboard.
  • Name - Displays the name of the fertilizer(s) you've selected.
  • Area - Enter the total land area of the operation. If you're adding a new operation and more than one land area was selected, you won't be able to change this value. The value of the Area will be a total of the combined land areas selected.
  • Rate - Enter the rate of the fertilizer applied. When you enter the Rate, the Total will automatically calculate.
  • Total - Enter the total amount of fertilizer applied. When you enter the Total, the Rate will automatically calculate. The unit will default to the purchase unit for the fertilizer in the Fertilizer Inputs window.
  • Lot # - Enter or choose the lot number for the fertilizer.
  • Machine Setting - Enter or choose your machine setting. If you want to modify an item in the list, click the pencil button and make the change.
  • Application Method - Enter or choose the application method. If you wish to modify an item in the list, click the pencil and make the change.
  • Notes - Enter any additional information for this entry.
  • Nutrient List - The list will display the amount of nutrients applied for each fertilizer, as well as the total nutrients applied for all fertilizers applied in this operation. The list calculates the weight of each nutrient applied by the fertilizers you've used. You can also enter the lb/ac of nutrients applied and have the system calculate the fertilizer rate based on the amount of nutrients put on the field. You can edit the nutrient list in the Nutrient List window and you can edit the calculated units (e.g., lb/ac) on the Operation/Observation Settings tab in the Software Preferences window.
