Reclassifying accounts
We’ve added a feature to the Chart of Accounts to allow you to reclassify an account that was set up incorrectly.
Each account category is sub-divided into different types. For example, assets are subdivided into Assets, Bank Accounts, Inventory and Capital Assets. To reclassify an incorrectly set up account, go to Setup > Chart of Accounts. Click on the account and click Edit.
The account type opens.
Change the account type to the correct type and click Save.
This feature is only available on accounts that haven’t had any transactions posted to them, and aren’t referenced in any Setup dialogue boxes (such as Payroll).
