Recording transfers between bank accounts 

Transfer from chequing account to savings account 

To record a transfer of funds from a chequing account to a savings account:

  1. Select Transaction Entry from the Transactions menu. The Transaction Entry dialogue box opens.
  2. Select Bank Transfer from the Transaction type drop-down menu.
  3. Enter the transaction Date.
  4. Select the Bank account you’re transferring from.
  5. Enter a Reference to indentify the transaction throughout AgExpert Analyst.
  6. Enter a Description, such as Transfer to savings, or click the arrow to select a previously entered description.
  7. Enter the Total amount of the transfer.
  8. Select Bank (BK) from the Type drop-down menu.
  9. Select the Account you're transferring to.
  10. Enter a Memo, such as Transfer from chequing.
  11. Enter the total Amount of the transfer.
  12. The document should be balanced. To view the balanced debit and credit entries, click Recap. ClickRecord to record the document. 

Paying a credit card

In AgExpert Analyst, credit card transactions can be handled through an account set up like a bank account. When a credit card payment is made, the transaction is recorded as a bank transfer from your bank account to the credit card account.

To record a credit card payment:

  1. Repeat steps 1 through 7 above, entering Credit card payment as the description.
  2. Select Credit Card (CC) from the Type drop-down menu.
  3. Select the credit card Account.
  4. Enter a Memo, such as Credit card payment.
  5. Enter the total Amount of the payment.
  6. The document should be balanced. To view the balanced debit and credit entries, click Recap. Click Recordto record the document.

You can also select Withdrawal from the Type drop-down menu. You’d then need to select Credit Card Payment (CP) from the Type drop-down menu in the transaction details section.
