Creating a new Field Manager PRO data file
Field Manager PRO Desktop is designed to mimic the structure of a farm. It allows you to set up multiple fields, parcels, inputs, equipment and contacts, and record all necessary operations and observations in a single data file.
You only need one farm data file to hold all the set-up information for a single farm. You can continue to add to this data and don’t need to create a new farm data file for each year.
To create a new Field Manager PRO data file:
- Click Create New Data File or select New from the File menu.
- Enter a name for the farm record in the File name field.
- Click Save.
- Specify the crop year that you want to enter records for and click OK.Note: You should start with the current year as you can always enter records for past years later on.
- The Field Manager PRO Setup Wizard will open. It will guide you in creating your crop record keeping system. Note: If you need to leave the Setup Wizard, select Save & Resume Later. It will resume when you reopen your data file.

- Click the applicable tabs to select the herbicides, fungicides, insecticides and seed treatments used on your farm. If your pesticide isn’t on the list, you can add it later through the Setup menu. ClickNext.
- Enter your land set-up defaults by labelling your pieces of land under My pieces of land are called. If you don’t find what you need in the drop-down menu, you can type in the name of the label. Select your default land unit from the drop-down menu.
